The Jersey Style Awards are delighted to announce that they have received a significant grant from the Tourism Development Fund. The Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport & Culture has awarded support to three local projects, of which the awards are one of the recipients.
The sponsorship package has been agreed to the Jersey Style Awards as the event is designed to enhance Jersey’s tourism offer in line with the Jersey Destination Plan that was published in August 2015.
The event which is being held on the 24th June at the Royal Jersey Showground will provide a unique opportunity for off island exposure and will work with Visit Jersey, Locate Jersey and Genuine Jersey to maximise the advertising and digital reach.
Dr. Tessa Hartmann commented: "There is no doubt that event led marketing helps drive national and international awareness. Our objective is to showcase the best businesses across the tourism, culture, arts, retail and style arena that hail from Jersey, to a national and international audience. Our social media, PR campaign and luxury brand partners will help change the conversation about Jersey in the national media. The support from the Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture Department and the TDF will allow us to deliver these objectives in an innovative and creative manner and we are very grateful for their support."
Senator Lyndon Farnham said:
"Tourism is vitally important to Jersey and the sector is beginning to show signs of growth again which is very encouraging. It is essential that we continue to invest in Tourism at this important time for the economy.
I am pleased to be able to offer these grants from the Tourism Development Fund to three innovative projects that will add to our tourism offering and generate an economic return for the Island.
I would like to thank the Tourism Development Fund advisory panel for their guidance and advice with these applications".
